HotL have evolved into a pretty liberal organization where freedom of speech is not frowned upon, but with that said, we do have some common expectations of our members when they join, as they are representing the guild in and out of game. We formed this great guild February 23th 2005.
1) Have a good sense of humor, as this can go a long way towards you getting one of our many jokes or getting your feelings hurt. We’re a tight group, so we goof off and have a good time- keep this in mind and you should be just fine.
2) Be respectful at all times. Personal attacks and general asshats who make life difficult are not tolerated. If you disagree with an idea, joke, or policy, make sure you show some respect while making your point, and it will be given right back to you. If you make an ass out of yourself in public chat, community forums, etc.- hope that we don’t find out. We take pride in who represents this guild, and will act quickly to remove immature players.
3) No drama. We are a drama-free guild, so any whining, bitching, or carebear campaigning will get you warned, and eventually booted. Two faced people or members that purposefully go against our policies won’t need to be warned before they are shown the door. The leadership will always do what is in the best interest of the guild - not individuals … So if this means removing members that are a detriment to our growth, we reserve the right to act accordingly to remove the cancer without any encyclopedic explanation.
4) Be Active. We’re not looking for glory seekers who want the title of ‘uberness’ without earning it. We want people who show their faces a couple of times a week at the least, and who we can count on to be there fighting by our side when we need reinforcements.
Overall – Just remember the golden rule folks, and you’ll be fine here within our ranks … Don’t put yourself above the guild or its members, and contribute to the community when you get the chance - we can provide the opportunity to group with many like-minded people and give you a casual role-playing angle to WoW - but most of the time, your guild is entirely what YOU make of it …
This will help make our Guilds a better place to be for everyone
- including yourself
